The Santuario Madonna Della Corona is a beautiful place carved out of the rocks and tourist find it to be a miracle in itself, the sanctity of the place can be felt by its peace and harmony, the deep blue sky and the rocky face add to the beauty of the place. The 17th century monastery was built between 1480 and 1552 by the Knights of the Order of Malta.

The new sanctuary was built in 1625, the sanctuary is named after the statue of “Our Lady of the Crown” which was carved by the artist Ludovico but it is more commonly known as the “Of the Crown” because of the rock face that surrounds the structure, the story goes that a statue of Our Lady of Sorrows disappeared from the Rodi in 1522 during the Turkish occupation of the island and reappeared in Spiazzi in a place that was barely accessible at the summit of the Adige Valley, it is a fantastic place and a must visit for family and friends.
